Orient Overseas Reports Reduced Mid-Year Profits

Orient Overseas (International) (HK:0316) has released an update.

Orient Overseas (International) Limited reported a decrease in profit for the first half of 2024, with a profit of $834,055,000 compared to $1,129,397,000 in the same period last year. This drop is despite a slight increase in revenue, from $4,540,681,000 to $4,645,576,000. The company experienced overall comprehensive income for the period, although there was a loss in other comprehensive income due to currency translation adjustments and remeasurement on defined benefit schemes.
