Nippon Steel to Restructure Steel Pipe Business

NIPPON STEEL (JP:5401) has released an update.

Nippon Steel Corporation and its subsidiaries have agreed to restructure their domestic ERW steel pipe business to enhance efficiency and competitiveness amid challenging market conditions. The restructuring involves a company split and an absorption-type merger, with the transfer of commercial rights for construction and mechanical steel pipes to streamline operations. The planned completion of the merger is set for April 1, 2025, without the need for a shareholder meeting due to its status as a simplified merger.
