NFI Group’s subsidiary, New Flyer, has secured a significant contract with the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority for up to 460 zero-emission Xcelsior CHARGE NG buses, including a firm order for 80 units. This initiative represents a substantial leap in MBTA’s goal of achieving an all-electric bus fleet, with the order supported by the Federal Transit Administration’s Low-No grant program. The deal introduces an innovative three-door design for efficient boarding, underscoring New Flyer’s commitment to advancing public transportation technology.
