Neoen SA has announced a 10-year virtual battery contract with AGL Energy to provide 200 MW of capacity, supporting the construction of Stage 2 of the Western Downs Battery, adjacent to Neoen’s existing solar farm in Queensland. With this deal, Neoen bolsters its commitment to Queensland’s renewable targets, bringing its Australian renewable portfolio to over 1 GW in operation or construction. The project, which includes 140 Tesla Megapack 2XL units, will enhance grid reliability and aid in the transition to renewable energy sources.
