Mersen has completed a significant contribution to astronomy by delivering the fifth and final mirror for the world’s most powerful giant telescope, the ELT, to Safran Reosc of the ESO. The mirror, crafted from silicon carbide and featuring exceptional thermomechanical properties, is pivotal for image stabilization in the telescope. This achievement underscores Mersen’s longstanding involvement in major space missions and its commitment to advancing technological frontiers in astronomy.
