Masdar Buys Saeta, Boosts Iberian Renewables

Brookfield Renewable (BEPC) has released an update.

Masdar, an Emirati clean energy company, has announced its acquisition of Saeta from Brookfield Renewable for approximately $1.4 billion, strengthening its renewables presence in the Iberian Peninsula. The deal includes a 745 MW portfolio of wind and solar assets along with a 1.6 GW pipeline of projects in Spain and Portugal. This strategic move is in line with Masdar’s ambitious plan to reach a global renewable energy capacity of 100 GW by 2030, marking one of the largest renewable transactions in the region.
