Maple Leaf Foods Inc. has announced their strategic decision to split into two independent public companies, aiming for enhanced growth and a dedicated focus on sustainability. The separation will see Maple Leaf Foods concentrating on its brand-led consumer packaged goods, while its pork business will operate under a new name and pursue its own growth strategy. The company will maintain a 19.9% stake in the new Pork Company and establish a supply agreement to support both entities’ growth and sustainability goals.
