Manulife US REIT (SG:BTOU) has released an update.
Manulife US REIT has announced that transfers of its units will not be subject to the new Section 1446(f) Withholding Tax, as the trust has been structured to avoid engagement in US trade or business. The REIT has issued a Qualified Notice, effective from March 31, 2024, confirming this status and ensuring unitholders are exempt from the withholding tax and related tax filing requirements in the US. This notice will be updated quarterly and is available on the Manulife US REIT website.
