Longboat Energy Plc, an emerging Southeast Asia-focused E&P company, has released a Competent Persons Report confirming the giant scale of the Kertang prospect in Block 2A, offshore Sarawak, estimating a total of 9.1 trillion cubic feet of gas and 146 million barrels of natural gas liquids across various targets. The company, which holds a 52.5% operating interest in the prospect, is planning a farm-out process in the second half of 2024 to seek partners for the exploration well. This announcement signals a significant step towards tapping into one of the largest undrilled structures in Malaysia, with high expectations for the region’s energy potential.
