Lithium Americas (Argentina) Corp. has announced the appointment of Sam Pigott as the new President and CEO, effective March 18, 2024, succeeding John Kanellitsas who remains as Executive Chairman. Pigott, with a background in mining and lithium as well as extensive experience from Ganfeng Lithium, is set to lead the company’s transition and growth, including the Caucharí-Olaroz project’s ramp-up of operations. His appointment is seen as a strategic move for the emerging lithium carbonate producer, aiming for success in the evolving electric vehicle market.
