Interfor (TSE:IFP) has released an update.
Interfor Corporation is exiting its operations in Québec by selling its manufacturing facilities and closing its Montréal office, aimed at focusing resources on more promising areas. The company has entered into an agreement with Chantiers Chibougamau Ltée to sell its sawmills and remanufacturing plant for around $30 million. This move is influenced by limited fiber availability due to recent forest fires, allowing Interfor to better concentrate on its Ontario and New Brunswick operations.
