Impact Minerals Sets Low-Carbon Benchmark for HPA Project

Impact Minerals Limited (AU:IPT) has released an update.

Impact Minerals Limited’s Lake Hope High Purity Alumina (HPA) project in Western Australia is set to boast exceptionally low carbon emissions, with projections indicating they will be competitive with, or even lower than, both traditional and emerging HPA production methods. The company is planning to leverage 100% renewable energy, aligning with Western Australia’s goals, which could further reduce the CO2 emissions to around 1.35 tonnes per tonne of HPA, potentially setting a new industry standard for low emissions. Impact is committed to a net-zero carbon strategy, aiming to fully decarbonize the project by offsetting emissions from mining, transport, and calcining through renewable energy solutions.
