Idemitsu Advances CCS Project for 2030 Launch

Idemitsu Kosan Co (JP:5019) has released an update.

Idemitsu Kosan Co., along with JAPEX and HEPCO, is advancing a CCS (Carbon dioxide Capture and Storage) project in Tomakomai, aiming for operation by 2030 to contribute to Japan’s 2050 carbon neutrality goal. The ‘Japanese Advanced CCS Project’ includes an engineering design contract for CCS value chain and CO2 storage potential assessment. The companies are engaging with local stakeholders and planning for CO2 separation, capture, transportation, storage, and future CCUS (Carbon dioxide Capture, Utilization, and Storage) operations.
