Humana Inc. has announced a significant leadership transition with Bruce D. Broussard stepping down as CEO in the second half of 2024, and James A. Rechtin set to take over on July 1, 2024. Broussard has agreed to continue as a strategic advisor until March 2025 and will join the variable staffing pool until March 2026, offering guidance on public policy and talent development without a salary but with equity vesting and other benefits. This change, not due to any internal disputes, will also see Broussard resign from Humana’s Board of Directors with Rechtin expected to join in his stead.
