HSBC Progresses With Major Share Buy-back

HSBC Holdings (GB:HSBA) has released an update.

HSBC Holdings plc has recently announced a share buy-back, with the purchase and subsequent cancellation of millions of its ordinary shares. On August 21, 2024, the company bought back and cancelled over 4.5 million shares from UK and Hong Kong stock exchanges, further reducing its issued share capital to 18,420,993,950 shares. This move is part of a larger buy-back program initiated earlier in the month, which has seen HSBC spend approximately US$644.2 million on share repurchases.
