HSBC Holdings Executes Share Buy-Back Plan

HSBC Holdings (GB:HSBA) has released an update.

HSBC Holdings plc has reported the repurchase of 2,674,800 of its ordinary shares for cancellation, a move consistent with the company’s share buy-back plan announced earlier on May 7, 2024. The transactions, conducted with Morgan Stanley on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, ranged in price from HK$67.2000 to HK$67.7500 per share, with an aggregate cost of approximately US$2.795 billion for 319,708,799 shares since the start of the buy-back. This step will modify the company’s issued share capital, excluding shares held in treasury, to 18,546,354,461 shares, affecting shareholders’ notification thresholds under the Financial Conduct Authority’s rules.
