HSBC Continues Major Share Buy-Back Program

HSBC Holdings (GB:HSBA) has released an update.

HSBC Holdings PLC has recently bought back and cancelled over 2.2 million of its own shares, with the transaction managed by Merrill Lynch International. This move, which is part of an ongoing buy-back program announced in August 2024, has brought the company’s total repurchased shares to nearly 191 million, costing around US$1.62 billion. Following this latest cancellation, HSBC’s remaining issued share capital will consist of over 18.3 billion ordinary shares with voting rights.
