Hempalta Corp, an AgTech company, has announced a new eco-friendly biochar product derived from industrial hemp, contributing to the diversification of its hemp-based offerings such as animal bedding and sustainable building materials. The innovative biochar aids in carbon sequestration and soil enhancement while enabling farmers to earn revenue through carbon credits, valued at around US$200 per ton of CO2 sequestered. Additionally, Hempalta’s Hemp Carbon Standard Inc. subsidiary is making strides in the carbon credit market with recent sales, including to a blockchain company.
