Grieg Seafood Reacts to BC Aquaculture Transition

Grieg Seafood ASA (GRGSF) has released an update.

The Canadian government has announced a ban on open net-pen salmon aquaculture in British Columbia by June 30, 2029, with a transition to closed-containment systems for new licenses. Grieg Seafood ASA will halt investments in BC until a draft transition plan is presented later in July 2024. The company’s operations in Newfoundland remain unaffected as provincial regulations apply there.
