James L. Nelson, a key executive at Global Net Lease, Inc., has announced his resignation as President and Co-CEO, effective March 31, 2024, leaving Edward M. Weil, Jr. as the sole CEO. A separation agreement details that Nelson’s unvested shares will vest, his salary will continue shortly after his departure, and he’ll maintain insurance coverage for six years. Moreover, Nelson commits to aligning his share voting with the board’s recommendations for three years. His departure is amicable, with no disagreements cited regarding company operations, policies, or practices. Nelson will also step down from the board of directors on the same date.
