Getech Group plc, a specialist in subsurface resource location, has announced securing a contract with East Star Resources for the exploration of porphyry copper deposits in Kazakhstan, leveraging its Globe geoscience platform and machine learning technology. This contract signifies Getech’s entry into porphyry copper discovery, building on a previous joint venture with East Star to explore sedimentary copper, and is supported by BHP’s Xplor 2024 accelerator programme. The collaboration aims to meet the growing global demand for copper, essential for green technologies and the energy transition.
