Exacompta Clairefontaine Faces Earnings Decline in H1 2024

Exacompta Clairefontaine SA (FR:ALEXA) has released an update.

Exacompta Clairefontaine SA reported a decline in its first-half 2024 financial results, with revenue dropping to €408,424,000 from €421,860,000 in the same period in 2023, and net income after tax falling to €16,504,000 from €38,218,000. The decrease in earnings was partly due to the lack of a capital gain on real estate sale that boosted 2023’s results, coupled with challenges such as a sharp rise in pulp prices and adverse energy contracts. The outlook for the remainder of the year is cautious, with potential benefits from lower raw material prices but no certainty in sustained paper demand.
