Equinox Gold (ASE) (TSE:EQX) has released an update.
Equinox Gold Corp. has reported a geotechnical event at the Aurizona mine in Brazil, caused by heavy rains leading to material displacement without resulting in injuries or environmental harm. Mining operations at the Piaba pit have been temporarily halted for safety assessments and remediation planning, but gold production continues from existing ore stockpiles. The company plans to offset the impact on 2024 production targets by accelerating mining at the newly developed Tatajuba pit.
