Energy Plug Technologies Corp. has announced the appointment of Shawn Hensen as Technical Consultant to spearhead their upcoming gigafactory project in collaboration with Malahat Batteries Technologies Corp. and the Malahat Nation. Hensen, an industry veteran with significant experience at Rivian and Tesla, is expected to lead the establishment of battery assembly operations in Canada focusing on various applications including microgrids and energy storage. The company is in the process of finalizing a partnership with the Malahat First Nation to localize battery production, although the agreement is still under negotiation.
