Diana Shipping Inc. has secured a lucrative time charter contract with Nippon Yusen Kabushiki Kaisha for their Capesize dry bulk vessel, the m/v G. P. Zafirakis, at a daily rate of $26,800, set to commence on September 9, 2024. The contract duration ranges from a minimum of twenty-three months to a maximum of twenty-six months, positioning the company to potentially generate $18.49 million in gross revenue. This strategic move will bolster Diana Shipping’s fleet operations following the sale of m/v Houston, with a post-sale fleet count of 38 dry bulk vessels, and an additional two methanol dual fuel vessels expected by 2028.
