CoreCivic is a diversified government-solutions company that provides high-quality corrections and detention management, as well as residential and non-residential alternatives to incarceration, and government real estate solutions, positioning itself as the largest owner of correctional, detention, and residential reentry facilities in the United States.

CoreCivic reported its financial results for the third quarter of 2024, showing a positive trend with a total revenue of $491.6 million, marking a 2% increase. The company also announced an impressive 52% increase in net income to $21.1 million, highlighting the effectiveness of its cost management strategies and increased occupancy rates at its facilities.

Key performance indicators showed significant improvements, with adjusted net income rising by 44% and adjusted EBITDA increasing by 11% to $83.3 million. The company’s focus on reducing labor costs and share repurchase programs has resulted in a reduction of shares outstanding, contributing to the earnings per share growth. Despite challenges such as the expiration of a major lease with the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation and the termination of a contract with U.S. Immigration & Customs Enforcement, CoreCivic has maintained financial resilience.

CoreCivic’s strategic capital management, including a robust share repurchase program, has strengthened its balance sheet, maintaining its leverage below the target range. This financial health equips the company to adapt quickly to future opportunities and meet the needs of governmental partners effectively.

Moving forward, CoreCivic has raised its full-year financial guidance, reflecting confidence in continued operational improvements and its ability to leverage its strong financial position for growth in 2025 and beyond.
