Contact Energy Limited (COENF) has released an update.
Contact Energy Limited, in a joint venture with Lightsource bp, is set to begin construction on Kōwhai Park, one of New Zealand’s largest solar farms with a capacity of 168MWp, capable of powering around 36,000 homes annually. The project, based in Christchurch, represents a significant investment in renewable energy, with a construction cost of approximately $273m, and is expected to be operational by the second quarter of 2026. This move underscores Contact Energy’s commitment to supporting New Zealand’s decarbonisation efforts through strategic partnerships and new technology investments.
