Cisco has announced significant shifts in its leadership team with Gary Steele taking the helm as President, Go-to-Market starting May 15, 2024. Steele, who joined Cisco following the acquisition of Splunk, brings a wealth of experience from his previous CEO roles at Splunk and Proofpoint, and his leadership in tech giants like Sun Microsystems and Hewlett-Packard. As he steps into his new role overseeing global sales and partnerships, Jeff Sharritts will exit his position, although he will remain with Cisco until mid-July. Steele’s comprehensive compensation package includes a $1 million base salary, potential bonuses, and substantial equity awards, along with severance protections carried over from his time at Splunk.
