Cerrado Gold ( (TSE:CERT) ) has provided an update.
Cerrado Gold has announced a definitive agreement to acquire Ascendant Resources Inc., which will allow Cerrado to own an 80% interest in the Lagoa Salgada Project in Portugal. This acquisition is expected to significantly enhance Cerrado’s exposure to precious metals and critical minerals, with promising financial metrics including a post-tax NPV of US$147 million and a 39% IRR. The project is expected to achieve initial production by the second half of 2027, with construction supported by low-cost financing and limited equity dilution. The acquisition marks a strategic move for Cerrado as it continues to build its portfolio of high-potential mining assets.
