Cedar Fair and Six Flags Merger Creates Amusement Giant

The latest update is out from Cedar Fair (FUN).

Cedar Fair, L.P. successfully completed a merger with Six Flags Entertainment Corporation on July 1, 2024, resulting in the formation of a new entity under the Six Flags name. Shareholders of both companies saw their shares converted into shares of the newly formed corporation, with additional cash payouts for fractional shares. Furthermore, a special dividend was declared for Former Six Flags shareholders. The merger also led to the delisting of Cedar Fair Units from the NYSE and the subsequent listing of the new Six Flags Entertainment Corporation under the ticker symbol “FUN.” The transformation included changes in the board of directors and the assumption of various financial obligations and guarantees by the combined entity.
