Barrick Gold (TSE:ABX) has released an update.
Barrick Gold Corporation has initiated the Super Pit Expansion at its Lumwana copper mine in Zambia, a $2 billion project that aims to double copper production and significantly boost mining volumes. The development, launched by Zambian President Hakainde Hichilema, also focuses on creating local capacity and infrastructure, thereby contributing to regional economic growth. Construction is slated to commence in 2025 with the feasibility study due by the end of this year.
