Barclays (GB:BARC) has released an update.
Barclays PLC has successfully repurchased 3.9 million of its own shares for cancellation, as part of its ongoing buy-back program announced earlier this year. The shares, acquired from J.P. Morgan Securities plc on the London Stock Exchange, will reduce the company’s issued share capital to 14.75 billion shares. This move comes as part of a larger initiative that has seen Barclays buy back over 462 million shares to date, reflecting confidence in the company’s value and a commitment to returning capital to shareholders.
