APA Group Faces Setback in Basslink Regulation Plan

APA Group (AU:APA) has released an update.

Pick the best stocks and maximize your portfolio:

APA Group announced that the Australian Energy Regulator (AER) has issued a draft decision against converting Basslink into a regulated Transmission Network Service Provider. Despite the potential $1.6 billion economic benefit highlighted by consumer benefit modeling, APA plans to trade Basslink as a non-contracted Market Network Service Provider if the decision is finalized. This move aligns with APA’s strategy to maximize asset value once the Hydro Tasmania contract ends in June 2025.
