Air New Zealand Faces Capacity and Revenue Challenges

Air New Zealand Limited (ANZFF) has released an update.

Air New Zealand Limited reported a decrease in group capacity by 4.6% in September 2024 compared to the previous year, attributed to aircraft availability issues. Despite a slight improvement of 0.5% in long-haul routes, the overall year-to-date underlying revenue per available seat kilometer (RASK) saw a decline of 1.6%, mainly due to reduced domestic demand. This performance reflects ongoing challenges in balancing capacity and competitive pressures, particularly in North American markets.
