Ripple Expands U.S. Business on “Trump Effect”
Trump’s social media move wasn’t random—Ripple has been ramping up its U.S. focus, citing what CEO Brad Garlinghouse calls the “Trump effect.” According to CoinDesk, Ripple signed more U.S. deals in the last six weeks of 2024 than in the previous six months. This is largely in anticipation of a more crypto-friendly administration.
Ripple also increased hiring efforts in hopes that Trump’s policies will encourage innovation. However, as annoying as it is for XRP fans, its legal battles are still lingering, and regulatory shifts could play a major role in the token’s future.
XRP ETF Hopes Grow amid SEC Pressure
The timing of Trump’s post comes as the SEC faces fresh scrutiny from Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). Meanwhile, optimism is rising over a potential XRP ETF approval, especially after the SEC recently acknowledged a filing from the New York Stock Exchange and Grayscale.
With political tailwinds, increased trading volume, and ETF speculation, XRP’s price has rallied more than 140% in the past three months, compared to Bitcoin, which is up only 4% in the same period, according to TipRanks data. At the time of writing, XRP is sitting at $2.5774.
