As part of this new partnership, Nuvei will provide direct on-ramps to more than 125 cryptocurrencies alongside multiple fiat funding options via its payment solution Simplex.
Ledger and Ledger Live users will be able to buy cryptocurrencies with various global currencies through more than a hundred different fiat payment options like Visa, Mastercard, SWIFT, and SEPA, to name a few, all directly from their hardware wallets.
Philip Fayer, CEO of Nuvei, said, “We’re excited to partner with Ledger to let more and more users easily acquire crypto with maximum security. With the number of possible verified uses of crypto in the ecosystem ever increasing, having easy on-ramps within the wallet is key for the continued growth of the sector.”
Simplex by Nuvei supports a diverse combination of on-ramps for local currencies and digital assets. Through this partnership, Ledger will effectively expand its range of available funding and purchase options for users.
With the feature integrations in place, Ledger users will no longer need to rely on external exchanges and fiat-to-crypto gateways, which in turn will maximize the overall security and at the same time optimize user experience.
Known for its seamless pay-in and payout capabilities, Nuvei currently supports more than 530 local and alternative payment methods, ranging from fiat currencies to cryptocurrencies.
The platform recently acquired Simplex, a fiat-crypto gateway infrastructure that facilitates on-ramp and off-ramp transactions for many cryptocurrencies, NFTs (non-fungible tokens), and fiat currencies.
Simplex also offers protection against chargebacks, fraud, and other common inconveniences of purchasing cryptocurrencies.
It is estimated that more than 15% of the world’s digital assets are secured via Ledger hardware wallets, ensuring users benefit from high-security digital wallets that facilitate digital asset offline storage and offer complete control over private keys.
In tandem with the Ledger Live app, the platform’s hardware wallets help 4 million users across 180 countries to better manage and secure their digital assets.
With Nuvei integrating Simplex on Ledger, Ledger Live becomes a more accessible ecosystem for wallet holders to buy and sell crypto, invest in DeFi primitives, manage NFTs, stake their tokens, and more.
