Apple (AAPL) to Host Worldwide Developers Conference June 9-13

Apple (AAPL) has scheduled its annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) from June 9 to 13 this year.

The event, which is accessible to the public online, is closely followed by analysts, investors, and the media as it includes announcements related to software updates, as well as new developments concerning popular Apple products such as the iPhone, iPad, and MacBook computer.

In announcing this year’s conference, Apple said some developers and students will be invited to attend the event in-person on the first day. Analysts say new announcements get consumers excited about Apple products and can also attract new customers to the company.

Elephant in the Room

The elephant in the room at this year’s Worldwide Developers Conference will be artificial intelligence (AI). Specifically, AI-enabled features for the iPhone and other Apple electronic devices. At last year’s event, Apple unveiled new AI capabilities such as rewriting emails and summarizing messages for users.

However, Apple recently caused a stir when it said that highly anticipated AI improvements to its voice assistant Siri will likely be delayed until 2026, without providing much in the way of an explanation. Apple was expected to announce the Siri AI enhancements this spring. Analysts at Swiss bank UBS Group (UBS) just said in a note to clients that investors shouldn’t expect any AI upgrades from Apple this year.

AAPL stock is down 11% so far in 2025.
