AMD Focuses on AI-Driven Processors and Gaming Chips at CES 2025

Story Highlights

AMD introduces AI processors and updates its gaming lineup at CES 2025.

The semiconductor giant Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) unveiled its latest developments in AI-enabled processors and gaming hardware at CES 2025. The company showcased the Ryzen AI Max, a processor designed to deliver high-performance AI capabilities, offering up to 50 TOPS (Tera Operations Per Second). At the same time, AMD introduced the Ryzen AI 300 and AI 200 models, bringing AI capabilities to more devices.

Along with the AI processors, AMD also updated its gaming lineup. The Ryzen 9 9950X3D CPU and Radeon RX 9070-series GPUs, both based on the RDNA 4 architecture. These components aim to improve gaming visuals and performance for both casual and competitive players.

Challenging Rivals

These new product launches place AMD in direct competition with other tech giants. For instance, Intel (INTC) has been making strides with its AI-focused Core Ultra processors, designed for both high-performance computing and AI integration. Meanwhile, Nvidia (NVDA) has long been a leader in AI GPUs with its A100 series. At the same time, Qualcomm (QCOM) has been competing in the AI PC space with its Snapdragon chips that specialize in mobile and desktop AI tasks.

With these new processors, AMD is pushing its rivals to step up their game. The question now is whether AMD’s new product launches at CES 2025 can help it regain market share in the GPU segment.
